23 September 2018

We very much look forward to seeing you at the Chiltern Green Party AGM and Open Forum Discussion, details of which are below:

DATE & TIME: Thursday 18th October, 8PM
LOCATION: High Wycombe friends Meeting House, 25 London Rd, High Wycombe HP11 1BJ

Please arrive at 7.45 to grab a cuppa and get settled for a prompt start at 8pm.

In our open forum, we will be discussing "The Green Party, Climate Change & personal action: How can we be a force for good in a rapidly shifting world?". As we are all aware, 2018 has seen radical temperature fluctuations that are both shocking and scary, bringing the reality of Climate Change into sharp relief. As more and more of us wake to the urgent need to take action - we find ourselves asking where we can best focus our energy for good.
Our intention is that our open forum discussion will catalyze this debate. We recognize that none of us has all the answers but that we all know there is much to be done. There is no doubt that collectively we can do more than we can manage individually, acting as co-inspirers and leading each other towards change.

As part of the AGM proceedings, we will also be electing the party officers for the forthcoming year. The roles according to the CGP constitution are as follows:
Essential Roles:

  • National Party Contact (Co-ordinator): To act as liaison point between central party and all members.
  • Treasurer
  • Nominating Officer for elections (can also be Election Agent)
  • Membership Secretary (The first point of contact for new enquiries)

Desirable Roles:

  • Convenor (to make sure meetings run smoothly and democratically & notes are disseminated)
  • Social Media, Website and Technology Officer(s)
  • Fundraising Officer

If you are interested in getting involved with the party and taking on or sharing a role then please do get in touch and we would be happy to talk things through with you.

The agenda for the AGM is attached.

We very much look forward to seeing many of you next week.

Kind regards,
Peter Sims    /    Zoe Hatch
